Almost 30 years have passed since I sat down at my Olympia portable typewriter and began banging out drafts of The People's Guide To Mexico. Well, here we go again.... Unlike the first edition of the book, however, which took three long years to write, edit and publish, this website will come to life before your very eyes.
In our usual organic fashion, we'll explore some of the fascinating trails of information we've come across over the years. We've got reams of previously unpublished material to share with you here, including articles, travel tips, trivia, recipes, book and website reviews, and interesting, sometimes outrageous letters from our readers. Stand by, too, for some very eye-catching art work.
The People's Guide archive is literally bursting at the seams. We'll be publishing excerpts from past issues of The People's Guide Travel Letter, and updating our out-of-print books on backpacking, RV'ing and camping in Mexico. There'll also be loads of new info and advice on our favorite topic: living and retiring in Mexico and Central America.
Bookmark us and keep coming back; the People's Guide website is definitely going to grow!
¡Saludos! Carl Franz & Lorena Havens
P.S.
We enjoy receiving letters from our readers and we look forward to your comments and feedback.
When you email us, please put PG on the subject line - this will let us know the mail is from the website and we'll put it at the top of our to-read list.
