by Mike & Terry Church, Rolling Homes Press, ISBN 0-9652968-1-4, $19.95The authors spent a couple of intensive years in Mexico gathering data for this impressive campground guide. The first 121 pages are devoted to traveller's information when motoring in Mexico, and give suggestions for four different trip itineraries.Because the Church's have but a couple of years experience in Mexico RV travel, we cannot expect them to know all the hard-earned facts of automobile travel that one spends decades learning the hard way. But aside from some quirky comments, such as "We measured the gasoline pumps and invariably found them to be accurate", the Traveler's Guide To Mexico offers solid tips and information for the new-to-Mexico-camping-traveler. In the second part of the book Mike and Terry's work shines. Nearly 250 campgrounds are listed and identified throughout Mexico and Baja California. Most listings include address and telephone number, but more importantly, all campground listings include map sketches of campground locations. Many campground listings have accompanying side-trip recommendations. The Traveler's Guide to Mexican Camping, has already found a place on my RV's bookshelf and will be accompanying me to Mexico. |
